"I'm not gonna let them hurt you and I will not leave you behind, Gregory." ~ Jimmy Casket

~~~~~
WARNING! The following theory goes against everything you may know about Jimmy Casket. Read with caution.
Finally, here is the second-to-last part of my Jimmy Casket theory! Sorry it's taken so long. Though you can probably guess why by looking at the picture X3
For those who don't know this, my theory is based on the VenturianTale videos as well as real life situations, consequences, and psychology. This means that real-world science and studies are going to be used to help fill in the gaps to this theory. Also, as a note for my followers; this theory does go in hand with the overall GMod storyline for my FanFic-turned-novel series for VenturianTale. For anyone who has absolutly no idea about what I'm talking about, you can find more information about my FanFic/novel series here:
fallenshadow95.deviantart.com/…
Since this theory is about a character from a game that is continuously giving us new information about the character, this theory is subject to change in the future. So far it has held up for about two years, so I think its a pretty stable.
And no, this is NOT the entire theory. The original theory revolving around Jimmy was so long that I had to split it into various parts. This is the fourth part out of five. I suggest reading the other parts before this one, or else it probably wont make any sense.
For those who want a refresh about way that this theory is set up, here it is: There are going to be four uploads, this being the first one. In each upload will be four sections. This makes eight sections in total. Seven of these sections will contain a statement or point that will be explained and supported using evidence from actual VenturianTale videos and real life science and studies. The last section, which will be located in the next upload, will contain a summary and the actual full theory. So, in short, this upload here will just be two points that are backed up with different types of evidence that will  eventually lead up to the actual full theory. In this upload we will be discussing the origins of Jimmy's knife; the story of Gregory and CBF; and how Gregory, Ghost, and Jimmy have become three souls/minds living within one body.
~~~~~

  1. Jimmy got his main knife (“Knifey”) from Light Zeron.

Alright, this one I admit did start off as my own personal headcanon. But the more I thought about it, then the more it began to make sense. It may not be so well known, but Jimmy actually uses more than one knife. The two that we know he has for a fact is a regular kitchen knife, and a knife that can talk. Yes, talk. This is the one I believe he calls “Knifey” because of its obvious paranormal abilities. It first appears in the video titled Gmod VENTURIANTALE Mod! (Garry's Mod) as a part of the VenturianTale weapons mod for GMod.

We know that Jimmy uses both Knifey AND regular knives because at 12:43 in the video titled Gmod EEVEE POKEMON Playermodels! (Garry's Mod) you can hear the talking knife say, “Stab, stab, stab!” when Jimmy continuously swings it at the dead Toilet Toucher. But he can also be seen using regular knives that DON’T talk on many occasions as well.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. It may be fine and dandy to know that he uses multiple knives, but couldn’t they just be any random knives that he found? So why do I believe that Jimmy is using Light Zeron’s knife?

Well, unless Jimmy found a demonic knife on his own, I don’t know how else he would’ve gotten a talking knife that emits black smoke when you throw it. You’ve probably noticed this while watching the murder game mode videos because you can see the black smoke appear every time Jimmy throws his knife. The easiest time to see the smoke is in the video titled LEGOLAS! - GMod Murder Siblings 9. In the very first round Jimmy is the one with the knife, and during this round, Jimmy throws his knife to dispatch everyone. As he does this you can clearly see a trail of black smoke coming from the knife.

Light Zeron’s knife also emits the same black smoke when it is thrown. At 8:09 of the video titled FUNNY MULTIPLAYER FNAF! - GMod Five Nights At Freddy's Mod (Garry's Mod), you can clearly see a trail of black smoke following the knife as Zeron throws it. I understand that this is because the game mode is the same for both videos, but story-wise this could be seen as evidence that the knife is the same one used by both characters. (This is also the video were Light’s character was introduced.)

We all know for a fact that Light Zeron first showed up in the murder game mode. We also know that after he loses his knife he continuously sings about how he has to get it back, which is how his name was created by the siblings. My first thought as Zeron was singing his song was: Who else do we know that has a knife and kills people in the same game mode? The answer: Jimmy. It was just an amusing thought, imagining the two killers clashing against one another.

But this thought was really persistent. I began to think about it more and more. Then I realized that a clash between the two was ENTIRELY possible. Even probable. This is because Light Zeron literally worships the animatronics of FNAF to a point where he himself has become an evil entity. This means that he is a full-fledged, evil character out to kill. It is entirely possible that at one point in time, Jimmy and Zeron crossed paths. They fought, and Jimmy won. It is even more likely that Jimmy would’ve taken Zeron’s knife after killing him. This would explain why Zeron is always singing about his lost knife, even when he clearly has one with him. His original/real knife was stolen by Jimmy.

Also, the fact that Zeron isn’t entirely human also fits into this. If Zeron was some sort of paranormal entity, he could very well be a ghost or other type of demon-like creature himself. That would explain his apparent obsession over his knife, at least. The knife itself is obviously demonic, or at least an evil tool. This is apparent by the black smoke surrounding it once it leaves the grip of its owner and the fact that it can possibly talk back to you if you don’t agree with it. Perhaps it could have a tie to some form of dark magic? That would tie into the whole insane-animatronic-worshiping thing going on with Zeron…

It is stated at 15:46 in the video titled LIGHT ZERON! - Gmod FNAF Mod! (Garry's Mod) that Light is a Vampire. However, later in another video titled Gmod ZOOTOPIA NICK & JUDY Mod! (Garry's Mod) Zeron is shown to have died. But… if he was a Vampire, the snapped neck should have effectively killed him (going off of some old folklore of certain vampires, that is).  Also, how was he able to even talk with a snapped neck? Due to a severed spinal cord and neck, he wouldn’t have the motor function available to move anything. He really should’ve died on the spot.

I wonder if Light Zeron was some type of paranormal entity that is able to control dead bodies. This fits in with him being a Vampire, actually, because in some really, really old myths and legends about Vampires, it has been noted that a Vampire is just a corpse come back to life by dark magic or possession of an evil spirit. Every night the Vampire leaves its coffin to hunt down unsuspecting victims to drain their blood, returning back to its coffin before daybreak to rest. Sometimes, these Vampires can possess other bodies around them to lead off hunters. But this is all speculation. I still need more information on Light to piece together a solid story for him, especially since other characters like Spencer seem to be somehow tied to him, but these were just my current thoughts.

How is this relevant to Jimmy though? Well, regardless if Light Zeron was an evil vampire-like entity, he STILL would’ve been a hazard to every human and paranormal being in the area. Hazardous to humans because, hey, he’s gonna try and kill them. Hazardous to every entity because that means the authorities are gonna come sniffing around. This would mean that there would be a higher risk of any paranormal entity in the area becoming exposed and found out. If Jimmy was in the area and he heard about Zeron, it is very likely that he would’ve seen the threat and wanted to dispatch him before anything too troublesome happened.

I believe that once Jimmy killed Zeron, he took the knife. It was probably giving off a powerful energy or something along those lines, and Jimmy couldn’t stop himself from taking it *insert a certain evil ring’s theme*. Also, it would’ve been a more powerful weapon for him that allowed him to permanently injure paranormal beings. Remember, in VT and real life, paranormal creatures usually cannot die due to conventional weaponry. There is always a special weapon, tool, or method that has to be used or else the entity wouldn’t die or leave. So, Jimmy’s regular kitchen knife wouldn’t have been able to actually hurt entities for too long, which means that (at least in the beginning) he must’ve relied on his own personal, demonic strengths in order to kill entities. Also, there is the obvious fact that it is a knife and Jimmy loves knives. So he’d take it even if there was nothing noticeably different about it.

Furthermore, if Jimmy came across Zeron and got this knife, then this would mean he’d have a way to hurt entities permanently, which explains why he is able to go after and kill entities like the TT so easily (also notice how he used the talking knife instead of the regular one to kill him). Especially if Jimmy had gotten the knife while he was still very young, meaning that he’d have plenty of time to practice and perfect his knife-wielding abilities against paranormal beings, hence why entities are so afraid of him. This means that he must’ve come across Zeron at a young age in order to get the demonic knife at the very start of his vigilante-like murderous spree.

The reason I believe that Light Zeron’s knife is Knifey is because Jimmy tends to talk about Knifey as if it has a personality. For a talking demonic knife, it is very possible that it could have its own personality. Heck, the knife could even be possessed. Often Jimmy refers to the knife as a “she” rather than an “it”. What would the chances be for the knife to be possessed by a female spirit? Perhaps even a demonic spirit? It would make sense, for how else would the knife have all of its abilities? Considering the fact that Jimmy often talks to Knifey as if having a conversation with “her” in many fan interpretations and the fact that he talks about and to her in the actual videos, it is not as far-fetched an idea as it may seem. The demonic appearance of Zeron’s knife coincides with the descriptions of Jimmy’s Knifey by both the fans and Jordan in the videos. This, combined with the similarities of both knives, hints at both knives being one in the same.

So, all-in-all, due to the similarities of the knives and the parallels between each character, I believe that Jimmy Casket has Light Zeron’s real knife. I also believe that he uses it all the time, too, and it is this knife in particular that allows him to injure paranormal beings. This demonic knife is Knifey, a possessed knife that accompanies Jimmy on his travels and various killings. I imagine Knifey as the sarcastic companion that keeps Jimmy company when he’s alone, hence why he’s so fond of her. That and Knifey’s demonic influences on Jimmy bonds both weapon and half-demon together in a way that no normal weapon ever could. Together, both are a strong, formidable force.

      2. Gregory is a ghost kid who was killed by CBF and he and Jimmy got trapped in Johnny Ghost’s mind during one of Ghost’s early paranormal investigations.

Yes dear readers, we have finally arrived! It’s time to find out how Gregory, Jimmy, and Ghost are all three different minds living inside one single body.

Since I’ve debunked the current popular fan theory about how Jimmy was created, the original idea of how these three characters ended up together in one mind is therefore invalid. But we do know for a fact that they all ARE living inside Ghost’s mind right now.

So how did Jimmy and Gregory, two separate entities, get stuck inside Johnny Ghost’s mind in the first place? And why?

In order to answer this, we need to understand who Gregory is and how he and CBF fit into this story. The truth is, Gregory is NOT the collection of Gregory’s currently named “Gregory.Gregory”—he is a SEPARATE CHARACTER. I’ve watched every video that I could find with a character named Gregory in it (even if it was only mentioned) and NONE of them could be connected SOLIDLY back to that little kid. Furthermore, there seems to be at least five different characters named Gregory. One is our little kid Gregory, one is Officer Maloney’s dad, one is apparently a war veteran, another is a convict who was sent to jail, and another was related to Sally in some way before being killed.

The reason I believe these Gregory characters are all separate and NOT our little Gregory is because:

  1. The ages mentioned in the videos they appear in are different than little Gregory’s. For example, in the video titled BABY DOLL! -- Gmod HIDE AND SEEK Prop Hunt Mod! 9 (Garry's Mod) at 7:52, this Gregory says that he’s been Prop Hunting for 65 years. This would make it impossible for the Gregory mentioned here to be our little Gregory according to the ages of all three characters. Ghost is only 29; Jimmy is only in the age range of 20-29; and little Gregory is only around age 10-15 (based on his reactions to CBF compared to real world research about how a child processes things). This age also means that the 65-year-old Gregory was born in a different time period than our little Gregory. Even Ghost isn’t that old, which means that it is impossible for him to be that Gregory in the original fan theory anyways.

  2. The backstories of these characters are completely different to little Gregory’s or any other Gregory mentioned. This includes the time zones each story took place in, too. Take Maloney’s dad for instance. In the video titled GMod TASER Weapon Mod! (Garry's Mod) Gregory, Maloney’s dad, speaks of how his son was actually an alien from another planet and had been adopted on Earth. The thing is, wouldn’t that make this Gregory an alien, too? It wouldn’t make any sense for this Gregory to be related to our little Gregory or any other Gregory characters, if that’s the case. As mentioned before, his age also would make it impossible for him to be any of them, too.

  3. Again, none of the videos that any of these Gregory characters appear in are related to one another at all. Every single one of them has a separate plotline that makes no sense when compared to one another. In fact, the only other reoccurring Gregory with a solid storyline appears to be Maloney’s dad, and he was physically in one single video and only mentioned in the second!

This is why I believe that the little kid we see in the original CBF video is his own character. His backstory, age, and overall current story is completely separate from every other Gregory created. That said, I think everyone already knows about CBF. It’s a paranormal entity that presumably came to Gregory when he was still a little kid. That much is for certain. We know that Gregory’s parents died and he was living with his grandparents for a time, but they apparently “left him” too.  (Gregory actually states this at 4:19 during the original CBF video called GMod CARDBOARD FRIEND Mod! (Garry's Mod).)

Now, here is where things get dark. I believe that, based on evidence of what we know about CBF and its intentions (mixed with how Gregory eventually reacted to it later in the video) that CBF is not a good entity. It’s the complete opposite of the word “good”. As a matter of fact, I believe that CBF killed Gregory’s parents, grandparents, and eventually Gregory himself. Therefore, the Gregory that we see in the video is actually a ghost who was haunting the house.

There are multiple reasons for why I believe this. The main one being that CBF literally states that Gregory is dead. At 6:02 of the original CBF video, Gregory can’t see himself in the mirror on a dresser. CBF tells him, “Gregory, that’s because you already died.”

I know that some believe that Gregory was later proven to be alive when he left the house and Gertrude saw him, but hear me out. Ghosts CAN be seen and that is a well-known fact. Therefore, it is entirely possible that Gregory could’ve been seen by Gertrude. Furthermore, it was shown at 10:57 when Gertrude was noticed by CBF and Gregory that she was only looking at CBF. Which means that when CBF said, “…We’re invisible…” she might’ve meant that GREGORY was the only one who was invisible. This actually coincides with Gregory not being able to see himself in the mirror.

But that brings us to the question of how exactly Gregory died. To understand this, we need to learn just who or what CBF is. Through extensive research of paranormal beings haunting or possessing objects, I’ve come to believe that CBF is a type of Japanese ghost called a Tsukumogami, which by definition is “an entire class of yōkai and obake (two other groups of Japanese ghosts), comprised of ordinary household items that have come to life on the one-hundredth anniversary of their birthday.” This fits CBF because it is obviously a spirit that inhabits a bunch of cardboard boxes.

But some of you may say: But wasn’t CBF unofficially the “Barnacle Lady” from the two-part video series called “Hell’s Island”. You know; the one where Ghost was the puppet from the FNAF series? It looked very human, then!

Well, some Tsukumogami are known to be able to shapeshift; use their spirit to move from object to object; and there are a few that ARE known to possess both live people and the dead. Perhaps Barnacle was just a reanimated dead body or shapeshifted form of CBF? It is possible. This would explain why Barnacle looked like she was dead—it was probably because she was. Besides, it is rather suspicious that only one person survived whatever happened in that town…

What also furthers this idea of CBF being a Tsukumogami is when Barnacle says that she was never alive to begin with. This happens at 20:00 of the video titled THE HORROR CONTINUES... | Gmod Hell's Island - Part 2 (Garry's Mod). Here is the actual conversation:

Ghost: *points finger at Barnacle suspiciously* Yeah… but you said that everyone was dead.

Barnacle: Everyone is dead.

Ghost: You’re not dead.

Barnacle: Oh… I was never alive, Gregory.

Ghost: *brows furrow in confusion, not understanding* Well, now that is just weird.

If she was originally an animated object, Barnacle/CBF technically wouldn’t have been alive to die. She would’ve only been a demonic spirit that had been given form and thought through the boxes. As time went on, and the more lives she stole, then the more powerful CBF would’ve gotten. It is entirely possible that at some point CBF would’ve been able to develop other abilities, such as leaving its original form of boxes and possessing other objects, including inanimate (aka, dead) bodies.

Which, speaking about dead bodies, brings us back to how Gregory died. As I’ve said before, I believe that CBF killed him. This is based on information we learn from Johnny Ghost during the second appearance of CBF. At 15:17 of the video titled HAUNTED BY CARDBOARD FRIEND! - Gmod Mod (Garry's Mod) he says, “Alright we have to get rid of this ghost one way or another. The problem is these ghosts are very tricky, especially ones who pretend to be friendly so that they can get close to you so that they can *suddenly shouts angrily upstairs to CBF* SUCK THE LIFE FORCE STRAIGHT OUT OF YOU EYEBALLS! *turns back to the woman he was talking to before* Are you starting to understand here?-!”

A kid would be an easy target to gain the trust of and befriend. If CBF somehow found a way to gain little Gregory’s trust, then it would be able to stay close to him. This means it would use him as an excuse to be around his family. Because, why not get an entire group of souls instead of just one? If CBF was with Gregory, it would have access to his mother, his father, and later his grandparents. CBF could’ve literally used Gregory to as an anchor to steal the life energy from his family before an unsuspecting Gregory was also killed in the same way. This would’ve been the most likely outcome, because once Gregory’s family was gone, no one else was going to stick around with Gregory long enough for CBF to completely drain them. So it would’ve just killed him and moved on.

Another thing that I’d like to mention about the original CBF video is that Gregory doesn’t appear to know that he is dead until CBF tells him. Then he promptly “forgets” about it. I believe that his ghost is haunting the house because he was killed unexpectedly at a young age. Based on the evidence given, Gregory was probably “living” there in what I like to call a memory haunt—which is basically when a ghost inhabits a place due to their past memories of it in order to try and hold onto their past life. This is usually believed to happen to people (especially children) who died before their time, especially in traumatic situations, quick deaths, or under weird or unnatural circumstances. Having your family begin dying like flies all around you for no apparent reason would definitely frighten anyone, especially a little kid. That would qualify as both traumatic and a weird/unnatural circumstance. This “memory haunting” explains why Gregory forgets that he is dead. As long as he is in the house, it can be assumed that he won’t see that he is dead. This can be evidenced by how he acts each time he leaves the house—he becomes more conscious of things when he’s not inside. Then, once he final comes out of the illusion, truly out, and steps out of the house, he can see that he is just an echo.

I also believe that the CBF we see in the video isn’t really there. It’s just a part of Gregory’s haunting illusion. It would’ve also been a memory from him. And for those who say to me: Didn’t you just say that CBF was seen by Gertrude? Wouldn’t that mean that CBF was there? I say, no. A “memory haunt” usually includes something that can project illusions or images that can sometimes be seen by the living, hence all the regular reports of simple ghost sightings in parks, houses, schools, asylums, etc. where the buildings can appear brand new one moment and then old and broken the next. Ever heard of a “Ballroom Ghost”? Well, these are hauntings where multiple images of ghosts are projected in a ballroom, like in a scene from the movie The Haunted Mansion. The same concept of ghost illusion applies to Gregory here, meaning that this would make it very possible for Gertrude to have seen the image of CBF from Gregory’s own memory haunting.

In the video directly, it is possible that Gregory was only remembering the happy times he had with CBF, which is why the ghost’s image was present. Either that or his mind was subconsciously working out that it was CBF that killed him and was having a hard time processing the idea, which was causing CBF to be projected first as a friend and then later something frightening. Regardless of which one it really was, this means that in the video CBF wasn’t really there.

However, aside from the previous explanations, the biggest logic behind why Gregory would have CBF in his memory haunt in the first place is this: CBF would’ve been the only stable thing in Gregory’s life, what with his family slowly dying around him. The ghost would’ve been his only friend at the time, the only distraction from what was happening to him. The longer he stayed with it, the longer he could play and forget. He would’ve had so many good friendship-based memories from the ghost that it is highly likely that they would follow him into death.

This idea of CBF not really being there in this video is based on how CBF, in the original CBF video, also tells Gregory that it was only a part of his mind at around 5:54. This small revelation could’ve been Gregory’s mind trying to tell him that the CBF he is seeing is not real.

But why is CBF telling him this? The explanation is really simple.

Usually, when faced with an illusion, things tend to slip through. Like an empty or shattered window, an old couch, a little dust—SOMETHING would’ve bled trough. This explains all the things that Gregory sees, such as CBF breaking all the windows, the old two-foot-deep pool, the attic of the old decaying house he says he’s never seen or noticed before, etc. Everything that Gregory would’ve seen as a ghost would’ve been just an image, an echo or a memory from his past, with things as they actually are slowly bleeding through the illusion. He wouldn’t have seen the house as old; he would’ve seen it as it was when he died, which is why he doesn’t react to the old building as being old. It was just something within Gregory’s ghost psyche that was automatic to help keep him happy and content in the house.

A human mind is a very interesting thing. As long as there is a sustainable illusion, it will believe what it sees. This, theoretically, would even apply to a ghost’s mind.

Then enter Gertrude. When she appears in the video, she becomes the outside factor; the one and only thing that could break the illusion. She is, quite frankly, the one inconsistency that Gregory’s mind cannot block out; though, it must have worked for a short while before breaking because Gertrude was obviously in the house before Gregory noticed her. I believe that Gertrude’s presence is what caused the CBF illusion to begin to break and tell him what is really happening, hence how Gregory begins to feel afraid of CBF. He’s remembering the bad.

And you, dear reader, must remember that not everything in this explanation is literal. There are many hidden messages that could be found if one looks, even if the meaning varies and is originally unintentional. For instance, the end of the first CBF video can be seen as symbolic. As the illusion begins to break, Gregory finds it harder and harder to realize what is real and what’s not, hence all the random “plot twists” that occur during the near end. Gregory saying goodbye and letting go of CBF later is like him saying goodbye to his old memories and stepping away from the illusion. He now realizes that he’s dead and he’s ready to move on, hence why he stays outside.

But how does any of this relate to Jimmy? Or better yet, how would this even relate to Johnny Ghost or P.I.E.?

Well, the house was old and it was for sale. If any disturbances, such as glass breaking, footsteps, or any unusual occurrences occurred, then it is possible that P.I.E. would be called in. It could’ve been Gertrude (though that wouldn’t have been very wise of her, considering… well… *spoilers*) or even the old man that comes in later to talk to her about the house.

Now, let’s take a step back to something you may be wondering. Did Gregory really leave the house? I don’t think he ever did. There is evidence to suggest that he stuck around, even after he was free of the illusion. The following conversation takes place at about 15:05 in the original CBF video…

Man: …But there’s a dark secret hidden behind this mansion.

Gertrude: Really? I did find a random kid in here… *looks outside* Oh, well, he’s outside, actually…

I wonder if Gregory actually stayed. Think about it: his house is the only thing he has left. It’s familiar and a comfort to him, even if it’s changed over the years. He’s been with it so long; it’s going to be hard for him to leave it permanently. So it is very likely that Gregory decided to stay and watch over the house. Theoretically, since Gregory fully broke away from the illusion that his mind set up, he wouldn’t be able to reconstruct it once he was inside the house again.

The dark secret could also be a reference to all the deaths that occurred in the house, too. So, with that in mind…

…this is how the three characters could end up as one.

What if, due to continuous paranormal activity from Gregory looking after the house, a newly formed P.I.E. team was hired to investigate?

What if, due to CBF causing such a disturbance with the “normal” humans, Jimmy had been out looking for it?

What if Jimmy met Gregory and P.I.E. came snooping around? What would happen? There was no CBF to catch, but P.I.E. wouldn’t know that. They only knew that an evil entity had killed a family in the house and that there was still paranormal activity going on. The fun part: Jimmy would’ve been the only creature around that fit the description of a demonic, powerful, evil entity. He was literally the only “ghost” in the house that was a strong enough level to cause any risky damage.

What does this mean? Well, P.I.E. gets rid of ghosts, right? So P.I.E. would’ve targeted Jimmy and Gregory, meaning that they were going to try to get rid of them. For good.

Now, do you think that Jimmy would let them do that? Do you think he would’ve just left Gregory alone to deal with the investigators? Ha. Jimmy, my dear readers, would not allow P.I.E. to even touch Gregory, let alone himself. You know why? Not because Jimmy was fighting for himself, oh, no… it’s because Gregory is just like Jimmy.

  1. They both were killed at a very young age.

  2. Both of them lost their families in one way or another.

  3. Both of them were harmed either directly or indirectly in some way by a paranormal being and were now trapped as paranormal beings themselves in a world that hated them.

  4. Both were faced with various traumatic incidents when they were young children which affected their lives greatly. Gregory watched his family die, saw his life slowly fall apart, and his best friend who’d been the only consistency throughout his short life had killed him. Jimmy was killed by his own mother, ended up killing the rest of his family in a blind demon-rage, and was hunted wherever he went because of what he was and for something that he had almost no control over doing.

  5. Finally, because of all these things, they both shared the same exact heartache. They understood each other in a way that no one else would ever be able to. That, my dear readers, is the perfect reason for these two characters to form a strong bond of friendship.

It is possible, that if my theory about what happened to Jimmy is correct, he would’ve felt a higher connection with Gregory than with anyone else. They were just too similar for Jimmy to simply ignore. So when P.I.E. came, guns at the ready, about to banish, injure, or even kill whatever was in the home, I can say for a certain fact that Jimmy wouldn’t have let them.

Jimmy’s backstory would’ve made him want to protect Gregory from the hunter’s threat. He would’ve seen P.I.E. as dangerous. BAD dangerous. To him, they were in the wrong for not even giving him and Gregory a change to leave on their own, or for even trying to let them explain the situation. This means that Jimmy would most likely have attempted to protect both himself AND Gregory. Hence, dear reader, why I remind you about the importance of point of view.

Who is the bad guy in this situation?

The newly formed P.I.E. team who has been called in to do a job that they have trained for all their lives; a team that thinks it’s found a deadly entity that has killed an entire family, including a small child; a team that believes that what it’s doing is right; a team that is suddenly being relentlessly attacked by a seemingly insane knife-wielding, murderous half-demon…

…or the two paranormal entities who didn’t really do anything wrong; who are now fighting for their very lives against a stubborn group of relentless paranormal investigators; fighting against hunters bent on completely obliterating them or trapping and transporting them to who-knows-where for who-knows-what; fighting against people have no concern for either of the entities well-being, rights, or lives (or after-lives, technically), to even attempt hearing them out?

Both sides have their own ideas of what’s going on, and are fighting based on their own point of view. Wouldn’t you fight to kill something that you believed was so dangerous it killed an entire family, including an innocent little boy? Wouldn’t you fight to stay alive against a dangerous attacker?

Both have their reasons to fight. That is the beauty of point of view.

When P.I.E. found out about Jimmy, they would’ve thought that he had killed the family and would want to get rid of him specifically. For anyone who has ever watched Ghost and Toast on a ghost hunt, you should know that this is exactly what would happen. They don’t ask for the details. They only make assumptions and ask certain questions to gauge the power-level/threat-level of the entity before doing whatever they can to get rid of it. By any means necessary.

The only problem is, since this newly formed P.I.E. team doesn’t have any strong government ties, any good equipment, and is basically a team of amateur ghost hunters; they don’t have the right tools at their disposal to get rid of a powerful demonic presence. So, how would they be able to fight off Jimmy? The answer: they can’t. As stated before, it’s impossible to get rid of a demon without the right tools. Sure, Ghost and Toast would’ve had some minor defenses, but they would have nothing to use to try and kick Jimmy permanently from the house. Besides, to them, Jimmy would’ve been judged as too dangerous to simply kick out. So they would’ve tried to kill him. For good. Or at least try to contain him somehow, which brings me to what I believe happened.

It is possible that P.I.E. got trapped in the house due to Jimmy. This would cause them to become fearful, because they would have no true way to defend themselves against him. They would be fighting a defensive battle, not offensive. On top of this, the team knew that it couldn’t keep Jimmy away forever. So they would’ve needed to come up with a way to contain him. Otherwise they would most definitely be killed. Armed with nothing that could truly kill a powerful demon like Jimmy, P.I.E.’s only option would have to have been containment.

But again, P.I.E. would have had nothing strong enough to truly contain Jimmy. Or at least… they didn’t have an object strong enough. I believe that Ghost theorized that if they could somehow trap Jimmy in his mind, then he would be able to keep the demon under control. In short, he volunteered to be the prison for Jimmy. This is based on real-life documentation of something similar happening, where a demon was locked away within a human or animal’s soul in order to keep it at bay. Stories like this also appear in various real-life legends and folklore, further emphasizing the fact that this is a real thing that was thought to work. In the next section of this theory, we will go over some of the repercussions of this decision.

Now, back to the theory. I believe that if Ghost tried to trap Jimmy, Gregory would’ve tried to save him. Jimmy would’ve been the only friend that Gregory would ever had during his afterlife, and he wouldn’t have wanted to let the demon go. Furthermore, Jimmy had protected Gregory, so he’d try to protect Jimmy. If they were both caught in whatever it was that P.I.E. would’ve used to initiate this plan of containment, then both of them would’ve ended up trapped inside Ghost. Thus, this is how the three characters came to be living inside one body. To put it simply, two of them were trapped on the basis of being dangerous and one had volunteered.

The next point/section should explain in detail why Ghost doesn’t remember Jimmy or Gregory, or this event for that matter, and why Toast does seem to know but never tells him about it directly.

All-in-all, Gregory is his own character. He is a kid who was killed by a ghost called CBF and has become a ghost himself. When P.I.E. came around to get rid of him, Jimmy just happened to have been investigating the place, too. They protected each other against P.I.E. but were trapped inside Johnny Ghost’s mind for their efforts. This is how the three separate characters, Jimmy, Gregory, and Ghost, ended up as three souls in a single body.

FINALLY! THIS PICTURE IS FINALLY DONE AND THIS SECTION OF THE THEORY IS READY TO BE POSTED! Now you guys can see why its taken me so long. So. Many. PATTERNS! *falls over* I spent all of today coloring the background of this pic. I'm very proud of it though.

But that floor. Augh. My hands are killing me...

The next part is gonna take a while to get done, too. There is a lot of stuff going on IRL that needs to be done BEFORE the next drawing can be completed for the last part of the theory. That said, its gonna take a while for the next one to come out.

OH! And I forgot to mention this in the last theory. Jimmy's design was heavily influenced by many artists here on DA. The most influential one was :iconsylargrimm: I know that she isn't in the fandom anymore, but I wanted to give credit where credit is due. When I create the design/ref. sheet for Jimmy I'll list all the other artists that helped to influence my own design of him.

Gregory's design, however, I had to come up with almost completly on my own because everyone always draws him as a younger version of Jimmy. I was inspired by :iconshoobaqueen:'s style of drawing for his hair. Don't ask why or how. I was just going through her artwork and it suddently hit me: his hair must look like dis. Idk how, but an image of him popped into my head while looking at her art. Which is awesome, btw. If you don't already, go watch her. Her original artwork is awesome, and her VT artwork is just as cool. The same goes for Sylar. Even though she isn't in the fandom, her original stories and artwork are really cool and deserve to be recognized.

EDIT: IMPORTANT NOTE

I'll be uploading a Journal in a bit that is very important. It relates to both my real-world school situation and VT. It may take me a while to write, which is why I'm writing this here. Please, when it goes up, read it. It would help me a lot. END OF EDIT
