(VT) Jimmy Theory Pt.1 - Evil!Venturian (EV)

You could call me an alternate version, a shadow, a doppelganger… an Evil Venturian, if you’d like. But personally, I’d prefer if you’d just call me Jordi, to avoid confusion. Hello everyone! Welcome to the first part of my Jimmy Casket theory!!! After seeing so many people think that the Evil!Venturian (EV) from my Black Water picture was Jimmy, I figured that I’d explain EV first. This is because EV and Jimmy are completely separate characters. A lot of Fans tend to get these two confused, mainly because they are both so similar when they appear. This is why, for my theory to be understood, we must clear the air about both.

Sadly, this means that this first part isn’t one that will focus on Jimmy. The next installment that IS about Jimmy will be coming later though, so don’t worry all you Jimmy Fans. I just wanted to clear up the confusion about these two before getting to the main theory.

EV is not Jimmy Casket. He isn’t any character that the siblings have outright acknowledged, per se, but he IS one of their characters. This overarching theory is based upon evidence from the videos, but has elements of my story and real world psychology in it as well. By this I mean that this theory goes by the idea that Venturian is a character in the VT universe, NOT the Real Life (RL) Jordan. Jordan is more like a storyteller, the voice narrating or writing the story through his videos. For more information about this idea and my overall story setup, look here:

Now, back to the theory. Upon observing when RL Jordan acts out Jimmy and when he is just being himself, one will realize that not every time he becomes ‘evil’ is related to Jimmy.

Evil!Venturian is just that—the EVIL side of our Hero, Venturian. As a character, he is the dark manifestation of everything Venturian is not. Whenever RL Jordan gets upset and nukes the map, whenever he kills randomly (or happily, even), or when he is acting just downright evil while playing as a character—THAT is EV. This idea is backed up by multiple occurrences where Venturian went completely insane or just plain evil in a video even though Jimmy was never mentioned or implied. Many people just assumed it was Jimmy because Jimmy was the ‘evil invader’ serial killer of Ghosts mind.

As stated before, EV is the manifestation of everything Evil about Venturian (a.k.a. Jordan). But what does this mean?

Have you ever heard the saying that everyone, no matter how good, has a dark side hidden within them? Well, this real world moral and psychological truth is applied here. Even Jordan himself has alluded to this, stating one time during a Mini Minecraft Tale (Episode 4 at 6:23), “Oh, and someone also pointed out in the comments that the Yellow Flowers actually have a little bit of RED in them. See the little red in the center? That… that is actually there for a reason… Yellow Flowers have a little red in them to teach us a lesson. To teach us that everyone, everyone deep down, has just a little bit of bad in them.”

What he says after this is what really gets me thinking about EV…

“But you have to hold it down, don’t let it control you. Don’t go to the dark side… I’m punching a sheep, hang on…”

…Was he referencing something that we fans never caught? I believe he accidentally did, even if he has no idea what he was doing at the time. Jordan is known to come up with many things on the spot that actually connect together without him ever realizing it. Story-wise, and universe-wise, this quote makes perfect sense.

Why? Because EV is the voice of the dark side of Venturian’s overall character. You can think of him as the little voice of the fictional Demon on Venturian’s shoulder (one that is usually seen in cartoons and such) tempting him or convincing to do certain things. In videos like GMod, EV is never shown to be a physical character, though there is plenty evidence to show that he exists. But, now there is some evidence to show that he actually is or can one day be a physical entity, at least to Venturian himself…

In the Five Nights at VenturianTale game by HomelessGoomba (HG/Isaac) there are TWO Venturians coming after you. One is said to be Jimmy by the fans, and the other is Venturian. But… Venturian is the GOOD GUY, right? And that’s the same for all the siblings. So WHY are there Evil versions of EVERYONE inside the game? Story-wise, where would these alternate versions even come from? I know that it is a part of the game, because it’s FNAVT and that’s the whole point of the game and all that. But before you say anything about how EV is just Jimmy, stop to think about this: Where was ‘Jimmy’s’ knife? And WHY does ‘Jimmy’ look like an insane version of Venturian when by now the fans have already figured out a basic design for him?

…Was Bethany unconsciously hiding something when she made this picture for the game? Or was this just a coincidence? I don’t know. I’m pretty sure that whatever Bethany accidently created was an unintentional coincidence, but most things that the siblings create are. This is just another piece to a puzzle of a secret character that no one has ever really given any thought to.

But the thing that has me convinced about the existence of an Evil side of Venturian place is that even if that IS Jimmy, is the fact that there are TWO EVIL VENTURIANS coming after you in this game. The first one is the Venturian who acts like a regular animatronic. The one with white glowing eyes that appears early in the game is like an evil, possessed version of our Hero. Then there’s ‘Jimmy’, who is a ‘special’ character that you literally have to keep at bay by rewinding a music box or whatever it is to keep him calm or ‘asleep’. He has red eyes and a darker color palate… and a reversed V emblem on his shirt. Now, usually when symbols are reversed, this is a major statement of ‘opposite’. But who is he the opposite of? I’m betting that it’s Venturian, and that many of you have already figured that detail out.

And notice how ‘Jimmy’s’ hand is reaching towards the player. Remember how I mentioned that the white-eyed Venturian looks like he’s being possessed? What if it’s EV that’s bringing out this evil possession of Venturian? Because as stated before, EV is the dark voice in Venturian’s mind. He’s what influences him with dark thoughts, constantly in the background. If he ever becomes a strong enough voice, then given the magic of every VT character, there is a high possibility that EV would one day gain a mind of his own, and he would either slowly take over our Hero’s mind or completely separate from Venturian all together. This is what I think is actually happening in FNAVT. And when one evil side gets out… then all the others may follow, correct?

The question is: Where are all the other Evil versions of our Heroes? I have no actual answer for this because finding the evil sides of the other siblings has been very tough. I have a few solid ideas, but nothing is concrete. There are a few holes in the theories about the others dark sides that I have yet to fill. Until then EV is the only Evil side that I can confirm at the moment.

So, all-in-all, based off the evidence from multiple other games like Skyrim, Fallout, GMod, Left 4 Dead, and even Minecraft, and including all the things mentioned here, I believe that Evil Venturian is an actual influence in Venturian (as a character’s) mind. He’s NOT Jimmy Casket. He is his own character. More like the subconscious darkness, doubt, and downright evilness within Venturian that if given the right chance, may be unleashed onto the world as an entirely new, destructive character of immeasurable power.

And just to give you an idea of that power, imagine this: Think of how powerful a real-world Hero like Venturian, as a character with magic who can never die, would be. Now take all of his goodness, his Heroicness, everything kind about him, and reverse it. Reverse it all into something negative, something evil. And then multiply his power by infinity.

It would basically be the genocide route of UnderTale, except on the surface with actual people playing the roles as the terrified monsters.

That’s EV—or as he likes to call himself in my story, Jordi—for you.

And DONE! The info/explanation thingy about Evil!Venturian is done! Now to begin working on the actual picture of Jimmy so that I can throw the actual Jimmy theory at you 8D

…And to also begin another super long info dump about his name! I actually spent three whole days researching various until I found the perfect one that fit his overall ‘personality’ and ‘character’. In the beginning quote, EV tells Venturian to call him Jordi. This is a not canon, but I believe it would be much easier to call him EV or Jordi than to constantly have to write out Evil!Venturian. Also because calling him EV isn’t really that original and I doubt he as an evil villain would actually want to be called something close his alternate Heroic self. So he chose a name close to the heart, close to their ORIGINAL name, Jordan. This is not only to differentiate the two, but to also strike a chord with Venturian’s memories and basically mess with his mind even more. (For those of you who don’t know this, after Jordan becomes the Hero in Minecraft [the first book], he chooses a name for himself. His Hero name which he keeps throughout the centuries. The other siblings do this, too. It works to both deepen the plotline and to give a reason to include the siblings RL usernames into the story.)

And if you know me by know, then you’d probably guess that the reason I picked Jordi as his name is not only because it goes with Jordan’s RL name, but because it has a hidden symbolism behind it.

As a name, “Jordan” and any revision of the name comes from the Hebrew word/name “Yarden”, meaning "one which descends". Jordan is also *fun fact* created originally as a name based off the name of the Jordan River.

…Which is also known as the river where Jesus was baptized; a fact that I found rather interesting about RL Jordan’s name.

“Jordi” is a name from the Catalan form of GEORGE. In English and Hebrew the meaning of the name Jordi is “down flowing”. It specifically means “descending” or “to flow down”, as in, to flow down the Jordan River. Another meaning of the name comes from its old Greek roots, which is derived from the Greek geōrgos (which means earth worker or farmer), which is composed from the elements gē (earth) and ergein (to work). This actually fits Jordan’s character in my story because in the first book, Minecraft, his family owns a farm and Jordan is (when not adventuring) technically a farmer. These are his origins, his roots, and the name not only alludes to who he was, but to who he could become through ‘falling’ or ‘descending’ from “Heroic” to “Evil”.

Actually, one major theme of my overall FanFic is the theme of the Hero falling in various ways. A character falls both literally, figuratively, mentally, physically, etc. It’s just a reoccurring idea of the Hero or main character “descending”, only to rise up after the fall to defeat whatever challenge that he/she is up against in that particular story. It’s basically ancient Hero Story Arc 101 for old time folktales. Seriously, there was a whole unit about Tragic Hero’s and Falling Hero’s that I had to study last year, and I took plenty of notes because it fit rather nicely with what I wanted to try and do.
